Popular TV Shows I haven’t seen (yet)

If you have read a few of my blog posts about TV series, you will know how much I LOVE television. Especially american television.

But there are still very popular shows that I haven’t seen yet and some that I won’t be watching.

When I began watching them in a serious way, I was 15 and not living in an english speaking country. So imagine when I figured out how much I’ve been missing out. This world unraveled in front of me and I was mesmerized. Since them I’ve been trying to catch up and learn as much as possible about TV culture and entertainment.

But enough of this. I googled “Most popular TV shows” and IMDb suggested a list. Here is what I haven’t seen.

  • THE WALKING DEADthe-walking-dead-season-3-poster-full

Why is this a tv show? I have been asking myself this question for a long time. I can’t seem to find the point of watching a series about zombies. I am not a huge fan of dystopian and postapocalyptic books/movies/series and this is definitely not my genre.

It’s probably incredibly well-made and there are a lot of people obsessed with it…

  • THE BIG BANG THEORY7

Never seen it. Will never see it. I don’t understand why people find this show funny.

Will talk about it more in the future in a post about TV series I hate.

  • THE SOPRANOSthe-sopranos-2_7524

I was 3 when the show came out… And it ended in 2007. I was 11. Definitely too little to watch it and there are so many new tv shows nowadays that I can’t also watch the ones in the past.

  • SEX & THE CITYp184689_b_h9_ah

I was again to little to see it when it was out and they don’t usually broadcast a lot of re-runs… I never had to chance to see it, but I am definitely going to check it out. My friend is totally obsessed and she’s been recommending it to me for AGES!

  • MAD MENtumgfygqk0xhzcezxbzg

Heard a lot about this one. Especially about Jon Hamm. I am not particularly into the period dramas (except Downton Abbey and Victoria) and this is set in the 60s soo… I’m not attracted to it, despite its fame and the many MANY Emmys and Golden Globes the show has won.

  • LOSTlost2_1280x1024

It’s not my genre… I am not attracted to these types of show and I just never saw a re-run (they don’t even make them here in Italy) and I was like “meh, I can live without having seen Lost”

  • ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK146-orange-is-the-new-black-p-streaming

This show was pretty big when it came out and I might have even watched the first few episodes but I didn’t get into it. It wasn’t something that appealed to me and that I thought I would be interested in watching.

It was a few years ago, so maybe my opinion would be different now… Maybe I’ll try again but I’m not sure.

  • SUPERNATURAL & THE VAMPIRE DIARIES16917305_900x1200mv5bmtq0mzc1mzm4ov5bml5banbnxkftztgwnjuxotg3nje-_v1_uy1200_cr8506301200_al_

A friend of mine tried to convince me to watch “Supernatural” but she didn’t make it. The title says it all: it’s about out of the ordinary stuff.

Both these show aren’t something that I would enjoy. I am still obsessed with Harry Potter, I love “The Hunger Games” and I used to love Twilight but these kind of things? No.

  • POLDARKp11546269_b_v8_ac

First and probably last british TV show, so fellow british readers let me know if you have seen the show and your opinion about it.

Aiden Turner is a thing of beauty and I know that the series is amazing but I never had the chance to watch it. I definitely have to fix this!

  • NARCOSnarcos_7uh1

One of my best friends has been obsessed with the show and it’s Netflix so it’s almost a guarantee stamp for an amazing series. It’s all about the colombia drug lord Pablo Escobar and THIS is something that I would enjoy. So it’s definitely in my list!

Also, doesn’t Escobar look extremely similar to Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation?

and last but not least, one of the series I am most ashamed for not watching… Everybody has seen it, everybody knows it but I haven’t watched it yet… Here we go… (please be kind to me)

  • FRIENDSfriends

It’s almost impossible, but yes, I have never seen a whole episode of one of the most famous and worldwide american series of all time.

YES, I am ashamed. Deeply ashamed.

Writing this has made me realise that I NEED to rectify this and watch it. So tonight (after catching up on “Victoria”) I will be watching the first episode!!!

So, here it is… This is my list of popular shows that I haven’t seen. There are a lot more, of course… Maybe I’ll do a part 2… Also, I really want to do a “tv shows that I hate” post but I’m not sure. I’ll have to think about it.

Let me know which famous shows you haven’t seen and which ones I definitely SHOULD watch. And make sure to check out my latest post which is all dedicated to the wonderful Alicia Vikander.

Hope you’re all having a nice week!

  1. I do love The Big Bang Theory but I guess it’s a bit too geeky/nerdy and not for all tastes.
I have always hated Sex and the City. It gets on my nerves and again, it’s a taste thing. 😊
I also think Friends is overrated. I never disliked it but I also never got the craziness of the fandom surrounding it. 😂😂😂
