The Good Place – s03 ep 01-02 “Everything is Bonzer!” – SEASON PREMIERE

I love this show.

I love it.

I love the writers, Mike Schur, the cast, the production team, the producers. I love everybody.

No, I’m not stoned.

These are my actual feelings about “The Good Place”. If you haven’t check it out, go listen to “The Good Place: The Podcast“, hosted by Marc Evan Jackson. It is wonderful, amazing and super interesting. You really get the sense of how a network television works.

In this premiere, we see how Michael (Ted Danson) managed to get on Earth and save the four humans from their death, shoving Eleonor (Kristen Bell) out of the way and unlocking the sae where Jason was hiding with his snorkel.

Michael is now forced to interfere again: several months later, they haven’t improved and he pulls some strings so at least Chidi (William Jacson Harper) and Eleonor can meet.

In the meantime, Chidi has met a neurology professor, Simone (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) who helped his almost (emphasis on almost) overcome his indecisiveness and Eleonor pushes them together, literally helping them asking each other out.

Back in “The Bad Place”, Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson) is trying to bypass the Judge’s authority (MAYA RUDOLF IS BACK AND I LOVE HER!)

Finally, Chidi seems to have found a topic for this thesis:

he will explore the effects of near-death experiences on ethical decision making.

https://ewedit.files.wordpress.com/2018/09/tgp_218y2982189290121.jpg?w=680&h=453

This brings him to find people who have had near-death experiences.

Hint: It’s Tahani and Jason.

Tahani’s life after Michael saved her is hilarious. Camila, her sister, is praised for saving her. Tahani then gives away all her material objects and puts some distance between her and her old life. She decides to go live in a buddhist monastery and after a while, she rises to stardom again by writing a book called: “Get out of the spotlight”.

Jason, on the other hand, is trying to win dance competition after dance competitions and his life is absolutely ridiculous.

Finally the humans are all back together but Shawn finds a way to interfere and sends someone on earth…

TREVOR!!

Adam Scott is back!!!! I love him. So. Much.

Jokes I loved:

  • “I’m a trash bag from Arizona, which is saying something. Our biggest exports are racist sheriffs and HPV.”

“I once got 12/12 on a Buzzfeed quiz called “Do you know all the slang words the Kardashian invented?”

Chidi is a living meme. I love him.

  • […] when I first read Aristotle I thought I was pronounced like “Chipotle”.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_UQD6rjQBvE/maxresdefault.jpg

  • “My name Zac Pizzazz!”, said by a douch bag leather jacet wearing Ted Danson. It was hilarous.
  • “I want you thinking about dance 24/7, that means every day you think 20 thoughts about dance for (4) 7 minutes.”

“Claustophobic? Who would ever be scared of Santa Claus?”

This show is the best. I loved the way this new season was connected to the previous ones. I’m interested to see how they are going to explore this new opportunity!

And I can’t wait to listen to the new episode of the podcast!

And can we talk about The Doorman’s obsession with frogs? And The Judge watching NCIS?

I cannot wait for next week!!!

Did you see the episode? Did you like it? Was there a joke that made out laugh like crazy?

My Personal Fall TV Line-up – September

As I’m writing this, it’s the early days of September.

I will be quite busy the next month and so I’m pre-writing some blog posts. But, by the time you read these words, my shows will have started coming back.

AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR IT

Mind you, it’s not like I haven’t watched anything this summer. I have basically spent it in bed.

From The Looming Tower, Killing Eve to Pose and Riverdale, my hands have been full.

As Shawn from The Good Place would say: “Enough chit chat”.

September 24th:

The Resident & The Good Doctor

Two medical shows in one night! I don’t know if I’ll be watching them as they come out. I just might wait and binge it. At least The Resident. I’m watching it out of loyalty to Emily VanCamp because I loved Revenge.

And The Good Doctor has a person with a mental condition such as Autism as protagonist. And that is quite rare. I liked the show. I was not blown away by it. Aside from Freddie Highmore, the other performances left me indifferent.

All of this to say: I won’t be glued to the screen every week. If I have time, I’ll watch them. If not, I might do it some other time. I’ll be very chill about this.

September 25th:

This Is Us

Risultati immagini per this is us season 3 poster

It’s the final season for NBC’s most popular and most devastating and heartbreaking show. I have avoided spoilers as much as I could, but I do know that they will explore Jack’s past and this time in the Vietman war.

I’m excited to see it (despite the cheesy-ness of it) and I’m excited to have a good cry.

P.S. Am I the only one that absolutely hates this poster? I really really do not like the colours. On their own, they’d be fine. But smashed together, it looks weird.

September 26th:

Modern Family

It’s the last season! I’m so sad! I’ve been watching Modern Family for 5 years and it has been a constant in my life! A new episode every Thursday!

I have so many lovely memories of watching the show with my little sister and laughing our asses off.

It’s time but I’m still not happy to see it go.

September 27th:

Grey’s Anatomy

Ew. I don’t even know why I still watch the show. I’ve been disgusted by it since season… I can’t even remember it.

I just hate watch it and it’s hella fun. And then it’s real sad because it used to be a great show and how it’s just garbage.

Check out the trailer for this upcoming premiere and see it for yourself.

I have every single thing about it. Especially Owen. And Teddy. And the hot doctors. Ew…

September 27th:

The Good Place

Risultati immagini per the good place season 3SEASON 3, BABY!!!

I’m so excited to see it!!! I’ve been obsessed with “The Good Place The Podcast” (Marc Evan Jackson is a treasure and I love him) and I can’t wait to see what Mike Schur and the writers have come up with!

It’s going to be so much fun and so stupid.

I’m in love with the entire cast and the writers. The podcast shines a light on every single part of the production of the show! And there is so much background information and little details. Give it a listen and you’ll thank me later.

Travels With My Father: Season 2

Risultati immagini per travels with my father season 2

Jack Whitehall and his father, Michael, travel to eastern europe for another season of shenanigans and uncomfortable situations.

I had a blast watching season 1 and I was so excited they did another one! From the trailer, it even seems like he is going to meet one of my favourite Eurovision performers: Epic Sax Guy. Check out his 2017 performance because it was hilarious.

September 29th

Saturday Night Live!

It’s baaaaaaaaaaaaack! Can’t wait to see who the guest star and the musical guest are!

Season 44!

Luke Null was let go from the show, Colin Jost and Michael Che are head writers and co-hosts of Weekend Update and Mikey Day, Alex Moffat, and Melissa Villaseñor were added as repertory players!

It’s going to be great!

They’re coming back to me! It has been a long summer and I’ve explored so much this year, new shows, new discoveries and new favourites, from Pose and Killing Eve to Fleabag and Riverdale.

What are the shows you are excited to see again? Or have you discovered something new?

And now comedy! Probably my favourite genre!

But first, in case you missed it, go check out my first installment in this 70th Emmy Awards series! It’s Limited Series, Variety and Reality

Let’s go!

Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series

  • Altanta “Alligator Man”, written by Donald Glover

  • Barry “Chapter Seven: Loud, Fast and Keep Going”, written by Liz Sarnoff
  • Silicon Valley “Fifty-One Percent”, written by Alec Berg
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel “Pilot”, written by Amy Sherman-Palladino

This is really hard. These shows are all amazing. “Barbershop” is so well-written and it holds the tention until the last seconds, both episodes of Barry are devastatingly scary and yet hilarous;

and Amy Sherman-Palladino! COME ON!

Alec Berg is nominated for two different shows! That definitely says something! I might have to go for Barry. It’s such a new and innovative show and it deserves recognition!

2017 Winner: Master of None “Thanksgiving”, written by Lena Waithe

My Winner: Barry “Chapter One: Make Your Mark”, written by Alec Berg and Bill Hader

My Winner: Atlanta “Teddy Perkins”, directed by Hiro Murai

Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series

2018-08-20-13.png

I can’t decide between Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph.

Wanda Sykes, Tiffany Haddish, Jane Lynch and Molly Shannon were great in their roles but they didn’t leave me with an Emmy worthy impression.

Tina was phenomenal as always but Maya’s role as the judge in “The Good Place” was unforgettable.

Sorry Tina, I love you. Like, a lot…

2017 Winner: Melissa McCarthy, SNL

My Winner: Maya Rudolph, The Good Place

Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series

2018-08-20 (14).png

I’m sorry Donald, I’m sorry Bill, I’m sorry Lin-Manuel but…

STERLING K BROWN “BROOKLYN NINE-NINE” FOREVER BITCHES!!!

Podcasts: What I’ve Been Listening To

I can’t believe that now I’m that person who is always talking about the podcasts they are listening to.

And yet… here we are!

I started getting into podcasts thanks to the guys at “Pod Save America” and I love them!

I usully listen to them in the car: I can’t connect my phone to the car so I just leave it on the dash board. Or when I’m cooking and I can’t stare at a screen, I get my speaker out and blast Jon Lovett’s hilarious rants on the highest volume available.

POD SAVE AMERICA

Risultati immagini per pod save america logoI’ve been listening to Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor and Dan Pfeiffer’s bi-weekly podcasts for a long time. I’m not that consistent. At times it gets too much. Too specific for a non-american person.

But it is the only podcast whose adds are probably it’s best parts. They are so good.

And in true Crooked Media fashion…

Pod Save America is….. a better way to have a no bullshit conversation about politics.

LOVETT OR LEAVE IT

Immagine correlataThe second Crooked Media podcasts in this list. It’s my favourite.

Jon is so funny, passionate and unapologetic. This Baby Boomers rants are THE BEST and the issues they discuss with a rich and extremely diverse group of panellists are so relevant and important. I get to learn about different problems while having a good laugh.

I’ve listened to every single episode ever released and I cannot recommend it enough.

The Good Place: The Podcast

Risultati immagini per the good place podcastSomehow this show escaped me. I started watching it after season 2 ended. I purpsefully waited until it was over to binge watching in one sitting.

And now they have relseased a podcasts! It’s hoste by Marc Evan Jackson, who plays Shawn on The Good Place and Kevin, the love of Capt. Raymond Holt’s life on Brooklyn99. (And Mr Sapertein’s lawyer on Parks and Rec.).

His soothing and deep voice is perfect! It’s relaxing and the conversations are extremely interesting and insightful, especially regarding the behind-the-scenes of the show.

The first episode has Parks and Rec and The Good Place’s creator and Brooklyn99’s co-creator Michael Schur. There was never any doubt he was an interesting person and after this, I am further convinced of this.

I love getting to know how a show like “The Good Place” comes to life and I love it.

If you’re interested into the show or you want to know more about casting, producing and writing a tv show, it’s definitely the podcast for you.

Do you listen to podcasts? Do you have any recommendations? Are you obsessed as I am about US politic?
