Suits Season 7A Finale Freakout (I know, I’m 4 months late)

Disclaimer! This post contains strong language and spoilers for all seasons of Suits.

It has been almost  four months since the “Suits” summer finale, and I am still not okay. I am baffled and at the same time over the moon about what happened in episode 710.

I’ve been very sceptical about this season, I was expecting something entirely different from the finale of season six, where we see Harvey and Donna holding hands at the end and Mike been finally accepted into the bar association. Although Jessica left of the show last season, she continued to appear throughout this 7A, and I couldn’t be more excited. I adore the whole cast, but she is truly magnificent. A badass black woman in power. I love her.

But without much further do… let’s talk about the thing every single person in the suits fandom is talking about: the kiss.

I was expecting something along the lines of this, since the title of the episode is “Donna”. I wasn’t ready for how amazing and mind-blowing it was.

And I thought they weren’t going to leave it in the last 30 seconds of the show but this is what they did. I waited the entire episode for something to happen between Harvey and Donna and it didn’t. The countdown for the following show had already begun and I was sure they weren’t going to show anything else but when Louis made that speech about him and Sheila, taking advantage of the opportunity and actually expressing his feelings for her, I knew something was going to happen.

Producer Aaron Korsh has always been sceptical about Donna and Harvey together as a couple he said multiple times, but I don’t care. The entire storyline with Dr Agard becoming Harvey’s girlfriend after being his therapist was just bullshit. Everybody knows it. But if this is what is necessary for Harvey to comprehend the extent of his feelings for Donna, I’m not complaining.

Well, I am complaining because it has ruined half a season, one of my favourite character’s personality, the awesomeness of the show which has become a joke and the overall vibe of the show. Am I angry? FUCK YEAH.

I don’t care (but I soooo do) what he has to go through to finally be in and happy relationship, but I believe he has to end up with Donna.

Mike said it in 613 with this amazing exchange:

Risultati immagini per suits mike harvey "we also need to make sure you don't"

There are fantastic episodes such as “the other time”, and multiple others where you see the deep affection that Harvey has for Donna and vice versa.

Before, when she was the secretary, them being together it didn’t make a lot of sense because there was still this disparity.

Now she is COO of Pearson Specter Litt, she makes decisions about the firm and she counts as much as Harvey and Louis. They are equals. He’s not her boss any more, she’s not his secretary. They have a shot of being together in a Jane Eyre sort of thing.

I’ve heard stupid comments and theories about sexual harassment, Donna kissing Harvey without his consent and some bullshit like that. To the people wandering around telling this bullshit I say one thing. Fuck off. You don’t deserve Suits.

Now I’m just waiting for the announcement of 7B and they’re taking their sweet time!

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you probably know that Meghan Markle is engaged with Prince Harry and therefore leaving the show. The network announced her departure but they still haven’t said anything about the premiere date of 7B.

Also, still no word on whether Patrick J Adams is leaving as well and if there will be a season 8.

Please, USA Network. Don’t leave us hanging. TELL US SOMETHING.

I leave you with the gif of the kiss because it’s AMAZING.

You’re welcome.

October 2017 Fall Premiere

In a couple of days it will be October and this can only mean one thing: another round of amazing tv show premieres.

And this months is just as good as September. I am still so upset that in the last post I forgot to add BBC’s “Doctor Foster”. I saw it trending on the date of its release (September 5th) and I didn’t know it was coming back for a second season so early. I was truly devastated.

This month 7 shows come back and I cannot wait.

Without much further ado, let’s get into it!

October 3rd: BLACK-ISH

I started watching this comedy this year, despite it being in its 3rd season. I enjoy it. I love that they talk about social issues in an accessible was to everyone. Season 3 episode 12 is probably the best. It’s about the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election. So incredible. Highly recommend it.

Anyway, it’s about a black familiy living in California and dealing with everyday life. Dre and Bow live with their 4 children and Dre’s parents. Who are completely crazy. Last season ended with Bow having their 5th child and I am really looking forward to see what’s going to happen to the Johnson’s next.

What I like about it, is not really the comedy. I don’t find it that funny, but it’s a show that helps white people understand black culture and at the same time, it portrays the normal black family living, with some of the same issues as everybody else.

What compelled me to go on with it, was the social component. They talk about race, sexism, education, culture and also a lot of stupid thing. If you are interested in a light-hearted comedy that you can watch while you do laundry (like I do), I definitely recommend it.

Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC

October 5th: SCANDAL

Scandal PosterAnother ABC show! This time produced and created by… Shonda Rhimes! The Queen of ABC dramas! This 7th will be Scandal’s last season and I haven’t watched it since season 5. Frankly, I don’t remember anything past season 3.

At one point it got too ridiculous, like Grey’s Anatomy. But with Grey’s, I am loyal to it. I liked Scandal. I bingewatched it while I was sick a couple of years ago but then I was interested in other things and I let go of it.

I might catch up on it or watch it “Bones Style”, watching the first episode of the season, the cliffhanger one in the middle and then the last 3 of the season. With this method you will have an overall knowledge of what happened. Who gives a shit about the rest.

(P.S. My app says I’m missing 28 episodes. I though they were more, so not too bad.)

Thursdays at 9/8C on ABC

October 11th: MR ROBOT

Mr Robot PosterThis show is crazy. So incredibly well made! Last season it left us all hanging, not knowing what was going to happen to Elliot and Mr Robot.

What I love most about the show is the directing. The subject in the frame is always off-centred. It gives a mysterious and documentary-like vibe and I adore it.

And can we PLEASE talk about Rami Malek? He is adorable and super talented. His performance is brilliant. Absolutely magnificent.

A warning, if you watch it and don’t understand anything, don’t worry. Nobody does. I recommended it to my cousing and he was so confused by it.

Nonetheless, it is a beautifully crafted series, another incredibly product of USA Network and I adore it.

Wednesdays at 10/9c on USA Network

My friend recommended this show to me a couple of months ago. I had had it in my “to watch” list since season 1, but I had forgoten about it.

This show is the best. It’s like an amazingly well-done parody of a spanish telenovela. Absolutely spectacular. The show is about Jane, a young aspiring writer who gets artificially inseminated. But as the title suggests, she is a virgin.

Risultati immagini per jane the virgin rafael

Her baby daddy? Handsome hotel owner Rafael. *wink wink*

The show is one absurdity after the other. Completely crazy. Visions, dreams, twin siblings, secret mothers, a drug lord, telenovelas, crazy fathers, evil stepmothers and more. It’s crazy. And I love it. I can’t wait to see what season 4 has in store for us!

Fridays at 9/8c on THE CW

I buddy-watched this show with my best friend and it was ridiculous. It wasn’t really my cup of tea at the beginning but I was so curious to see what was going to happen that in the end I really liked it.

It’s like a mix between Doctor Who and Sherlock. Dirk Gently is a reeeeeeeaaaaaally weird bloke who solves “holistic” crimes. He meets Todd Brotzman and he quickly becomes his reluctant and skeptical assistant. There is a psychopath, a girl who barks, an adorable corgi, time travel and an absurd friendship between a girl who kills everyone she meets and an electrician she decided to kidnap.

Completely mental. It’s a collaboration between the BBC and Netflix. Starring Samuel Barnett as Dirk and Elijah Wood as Todd, the show is utterly crazy. And incredibly funny. Can’t wait for the absurdity of season 2!

Saturdays at 9PM on BBC America

Good Behavior PosterThis is probably the show I am most excited about. I discovered this serie last year, shortly after it came out.

Good Behavior is about Letty, a thief with a lot of drug and alcohol problems who has a dangerous encounter with a hit man named Javier. This show is so good. Really really good. I was obsessed with it last year. I watched it twice. consecutively. I wrote an unbelievably long review gushing about how much I love it.

I saw the trailer for this next instalment and it was INCREDIBLE. Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto have an explosive chemistry. This is probably one of the best shows I’ve seen in 2016. And if you follow this blog, you know I watch A LOT of TV.

I highly recommend it. It’s sexy, full of passion, anger, issues but also recovery and survival. I have been wanting to watch it again for quite some time.

Sundays at 9/8c on TNT

Mine is quite an unpopular opinion, but I wasn’t a huge fan of Stranger Things. Sure, very well constructed and acted, but not something I could really really like.

My sister watched it the other day and really really liked it. Even though I wasn’t sure it would be something she would enjoy. Weird…

Anyway, to me it was overhyped. It’s a good show, don’t get me wrong. I love the details about the old horror movies from the 80s, the music, the clothes and some of the plot. But it’s too sci-fi. (says the girl who watches Doctor Who). But it is! I finished it because I wanted to see what was going to happen. That’s it.

The kid’s performances are magnificent. It’s probably worth watching for them.

I’ll be seeing it with my sister, probably.

October 27th on Netflix.

I hope you found some new show to watch! Let me know which one of your shows are coming back! I’d love to discover new series!

July Favourites 2017

It’s already the middle August and I’m here writing about my July favourites. Great timing.

Staring with the not-so-great news, I began studying again. I have to take again my exams because I have failed them, so yay. You can almost hear through these words how happy I am. 🙄😒

But July has been quite a good months. I haven’t had many bad days. My parents went away for 5 days and having the house (almost) to myself was THE BEST.  My sister and I watched Harry Potter, ate junk food, watched Game of Thrones and at least 20 episodes of Suits. Yeah. Things got out of control.

What I have loved most about this month, it’s been the beach. I went on holiday at the beginning of July and it was amazing. I was relaxed, I read a ton and looked like a tanned homeless person. I LOVED IT.

Beauty wise, I have been wearing a lot of bold lipsticks and I ADORE of all them! The new shades I bought for my birthday are spectacular (especially the Maybelline ones). On my eyes, I HAD to wear something and I decided to keep it pretty low maintenance. I curl my lashes and then put on two coats of my Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara. I had doubts about it, but it’s a good product. I have tried better ones and would not repurchase it again because of the price, but still… It was a present so… 🙂

IMG_7103 - OK

jane_the_virgin_xlgTV wise, I haven’t really watched anything new. Something is wrong with me. I have been rewatching a lot of comedies and one of the weirdest shows I have seen is “Jane The Virgin”. It’s basically a parody of spanish telenovelas, told as a telenovela.

The protagonist, Jane, gets artificially inseminated and has to deal with the consequences of this event. The show is so funny and it’s incredibly well-made. Every single characters is amazingly crafted and has so much depth. From Rogelio to Abuela to Petra. Can’t wait to see season four this autumn!

SONY DSCAside from “Jane The Virgin”, I got back into Suits. This USA Network program is so underrated. It’s so clever, witty, dramatic and breathtaking. It also deals with race, women of colour in a male-dominated workplace and some badass quotes by Harvey Specter.

I haven’t even talked about the plot. Mike Ross, bike messenger whose life is stuck, gets hired by the best lawyer of New York City (according to him), despite not having attended law school.

12000020While I was at the beach, I had loads of time to read and after hearing high praises on “Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe”, I decided to give it a go.

And I adored it! Although at times I felt like some of the conversations between Dante and Aristotle were weird and (in my experience) a bit forced, I LOVED IT. The struggles of these two boys discovering and exploring their lives and their friendship.

It made me feel warm inside, happy and sad at the same time.
Would recommend it to EVERYBODY. Please read it. It’s truly wonderful.

I hope you liked this post (although in the middle of August). What have you been loving this month? Let me know three things you have enjoyed!

Suits 7 – Mid Season Review

Suits is one of my favourite shows. EVER.

I have great memories of watching it with my little sister, laughing about Louis and being mesmerized by Jessica, commenting every single time how badass she is and how spectacular she looks in her dresses.

I’ve been watching Suits since season 3 and I am unbelievably glad I found this hugely underrated show. Every single character brings both virtue and vices to the story and it is simply magnificent.

Created by Aaron Korsh, “Suits” gives the viewers so much style and amazing quotes from Harvey. The style, though! I’d kill to have their wardrobe. SPECTACULAR.

Today I wanted to talk about the first 5 episodes of the summer slot (the winter one starts with episode 11) and vent about what has happened so far.

From Left to Right: Gina Torres, Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Meghan Markle, Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht.

This 7th season has completely wrecked me. Mainly because of Harvey and Donna. Actually, the lack of them.

After the season 6 finale, I was SURE something would (or had already happened off camera) between them. But I was wrong. When Harvey woke up from the dream on episode 1, I was devastated. Truly devastated.

And when he appeared in Dr. Agard’s office I didn’t think much of it. I though he was still going to therapy. Instead, NO. He wanted to date her.
I understand that Paul and Harvey want to have a relationship and the fact that he told her a lot about his personal life during their sessions is incredibly important to him but at the same time: no.
I think this new romance is quite awkward and unrealistic. I get that a deep connection was formed between them and although Harvey says that on paper they are not breaking any law, it is still quite awkward dating your therapist. They have a personal history together and that a deep connection was formed between them during Harvey’s time with her but Donna and him have been teasing each other for 12 years. Frankly, I do believe he belongs with her and not with Paula.

Whoever wrote that dialogue when Harvey says “we should be scared together” or something like this, it was stupid. It sounded like something out of either “Pretty little liars” or “The Bachelor”.

I absolutely love the character of Alex mainly because of the actor Dulé Hill. I loved him on “Psych”. He is terrific.

Even though I really like this season, I feel like something is missing. And that “something” is Jessica. She was the glue that held the show together and now that she’s gone, it isn’t the same anymore.

It’s a time of change because there is one character missing and I think the writers and the producers now have to form a storyline around a character that is not Jessica Pearson. And she was the head of the firm, someone for Harvey answer to, but now he is the boss. In Pearson Specter Litt, he is the one that has the highest authority. And as we have seen, he is not quite ready for leadership.

I love the new positions Donna and Rachel are in because they have real powers that allow them not to be just a secretary or a paralegal, they are actually the bosses. And although a black amazing woman was managing partner and she was the boss, the show can be a little bit too much focused on Mike and Harvey.

Speaking of them, I am 100% sure that Mike’s deal is going to cause some troubles, which are already starting to appear on the horizon.

One more thing: I ADORE the way they portrayed Louis’ struggle with his break up with Tara and the his consequent loss of fatherhood. Usually, this storyline is sadly associated to women (*sexism*), our need to have the fantasy wedding, husband and children and therefore abandon our careers. It’s a norm that society has imposed on us. And if you don’t want to get married or don’t want children, there are people who will judge and criticise you. (See Jennifer Aniston).

But all the women in “Suits” are powerful and intelligent human beings that, in my opinion, inspire others to pursue their dreams. Making Louis go through it all, helped make their point. Why do women have to be associated to this stereotype? Why can’t there be a men that want marriage, a family and children? Usually this falls back to women but I hope “Suits” can show that you don’t need to conform to society and you can be your own person.

I’m extremely happy that “Suits” got renewed for this 7th season. I don’t know if it was because Megan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry helped the ratings or just because USA network decided that the show had to go on. Nonetheless I’m really glad. And hoping that there is going to be an 8th season!

The only thing I hope is that the show does not get stupid. I’ve seen loads of show that by its fourth or fifth season, they are just trash (just to name one “Castle”). I don’t think this is what is happening with “Suits”, because I believe season 5 was one of its stronger. It was magnificent, but I’m having doubts about this one.

Anyway, I am still nursing my crush on Jessica AND Harvey. Both amazing characters. So well-rounded and brilliantly crafted.

Jessica I miss you and I love you. (Please, come back for more episodes).

PLEASE, let me know what your favourite episodes are. Or anything Suits related. I’d like to start a nice discussion!

Episode 6 airs tonight on USA Network!
