Winter Beauty Haul 2017/2018

I haven’t talked about beauty for a long time but I’ve had some time to spare and I wanted to share the products I have recently (and not so recently) bought.

Yes, I am months behind. I know. Who cares.

SEPHORA Lips Cream Stain in 17

I decided to treat myself with a Sephora lipsticks. I’ve wanted to get my hands on one of these for a long time and I went it and got it.

A dark red matte liquid lipstick. It’s exactly what I’d been looking for. It’s probably the favourite lipstick colour of my entire collection.

It’s truly beautiful, it lasts for a long time and it doesn’t smudge.

It retails at 10.90€ in Italy.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110

Last year I bought this Maybelline foundation in the shade 115 and as my tan slowly disappeared, I got paler and paler. Soon, even n^ 115 was too dark and definitely too pink for me.

I think it’s incredibly difficult to find the perfect foundation for your skin and your undertone. Since I have quite a tight budget I can’t afford to splurge on a lot of brands and try them until I get the perfect one, even the drugstore ones.

I already have 5 bottles of foundations and it’s already too much. So many different shades! And most of them have been bought before I knew what I was doing with my makeup.

Anyway, even if n^110 is a bit ashy and it makes me look “ghost-like”, I love it. It has a light to medium coverage, it sets beautifully on the skin and it makes it look like actual skin and not some mask I’ve put on.

I’ve been mixing it with my Rimmel 24h foundation in 200 (one or two shades darker that the Maybelline one and still with a yellow undertone) and it gives me a better coverage, especially in those days when I want to look flawless. (don’t worry, I never do).

Price: 10.90€

IMG_8224KIKO Long-Lasting Wet & Dry Use Eyeshadow in 215

Kiko’s sales made me buy it! I went in just to browse and my mom was kind enough to get it for me.

It’s got so much glitter! I can’t wait to do a smokey eye and have sparkles all over my eyes!

And since I can use water with it, a couple of days ago I did a great glittery winged eyeliner look and I loved it!

It was on sale and I spent 5€, but the actual price might have been around 8 or 9 €, so a bit expensive for me.

IMG_8223Deborah Highlighter Face Powder Duo in 02 GOLD

I don’t know why I bought this product. It’s not too bad. It has two sides with a yellow-based highlighter and a pink one.

I haven’t tried other highlighters, to be fair. It seems like the italian makeup industry hasn’t figured out highlighters exist and people have been obsessed with them for ages!

This one is quite glittery and I’m not really sure I apply it in the right way. I’ve been using it non-stop for a month, trying to eventually figure out the correct method for putting in onto my face!

Price: 5.60€

IMG_8225ESSENCE The False Lashes Dramatic Volume Unlimited Mascara

The name is definitely a mouthful!

I saw the lovely Emily of BeautyWithEmilyFox on Youtube doing a video about her favourite Essence mascara and his was on her top 5 list. I have followed her recommendations and so far, I’ve loved every single product I purchased.

It’s a liduid-y formula and the bristles have a lot of product on but it’s volumizing, lenghtening and it lasts very well throughout the day.

One downside, it gets a bit clumpy and I can’t separate my lashes very well. I don’t mind it, I actually like it.

Price: 3.50€.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and if you recommend anything cheap I should get my hands on!

Autumn Haul 2017

I am thousand years late with this post, but I forgot about it. Soz.

After all the money I splurged on my birthday lipsticks and skin care in June 2017, I didn’t have a dime to waste.

But of course, I have bought a couple of bits in summer and autumn, mostly on sale and one with a gift card.

I went to the same outlet shopping mall we go to and I discovered they added the NYX shop! I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to buy some products.

Now, let’s get started!

I got a shimmer-y light gold eyeshadow pen from PUPA and it looks so beautiful in the inner corner of my eye!!! And it lasts so long! It has a gel-like consistency.

I usually put the KIKO eyeshadow below on top and it sparkles like crazy! Absolutely love it!

PUPA Made To Last Eyes in the shade 203

My friend gave me a 20€ gift card for my birthday and I decided to spend half of it on this lipstick.

It’s Deborah Milano Fluid Velvet Matt Liquid Lipstick in the shade 01.

It’s a pink nude very very matte colour and I’ve been wearing it a lot, even to university.

After 3-4 hours, it starts to get a bit cachy and patchy and it forms a line on the sides of my mouth and the bottom lip. I don’t really care but I’ve tried better lipsticks.

Then my best friend was so kind to give me a present! Those amazing KIKO eyeshadows!

The Mini light gold one and the dark purple one.

I have been obsessed with the KIKO’s SMART COLOUR eyeshadow in 02 (the light gold one) and KIKO’s High Pigment Wet and Dry eyeshadow in 11 (the purple one. Yes, it’s purple. The photo doesn’t make it justice).

The pigmentation is great, although if I blend the purple one too much, it becomes a brown-ish/grey-ish shade that I’m not really fond of.

Then I found these gems!! The NYX Matte Eyeshadows! The orange one is called “Tantilizing”. The red-ish, brown-ish one is called “Not Today” and it’s exactly what I had been looking for! I love it!!! They are not super pigmented, especially if you use them with a brush, but it’s such a gorgeous colour!! Every time I do a sunset/burnt look, I’m wearing it. I adore it.  I can’t wait for spring and summer so I can rock them again!

I got them in the sales but each eyeshadow was around 4€.

Last but not least, the Wet ‘n’ Wild eyeshadow in Nutty has become a staple in my collection. Whenever I don’t have time to do a complicated look or I just want a light brown shimmer on my eyelids, I use it.

It’s great. The pigmentation is amazing and depending on how you apply it (with your finger or a brush), it slightly changes.

I’ll definitely have a look on all of those shades.

I wasn’t even going to post this but then I found the photos and voilà! Here it is!

Hope you liked it!

4 Favourite RED Lipsticks

Ever since I got into makeup, I developed a huge obsession with red lipstick. But wearing such a bold colour is scary!

The first few times I wore it in public, I felt like I had everybody’s eyes on me. And I said it before here on my blog, people aren’t going to look at you. Stop being so self-centred.

Although, in a small (-ish) town like mine, it is probably true. People are going to stare and make judg-y comments. To them I say: fuck off.

Without much further ado, let’s talk about the lipsticks!

IMG_7664Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107

This is probably the first red lipstick I have ever bought and it holds a dear place in my heart. After getting the matte liquid lipsticks, you quickly realize this is not matte. Well, it is. It’s not glossy, but it transfers. Not that I’m complaining, it’s one of my most used products and I absolutely adore it!

IMG_7662Essence Matt Matt Matt 06

2.89€.

Is there anything left to say? And the quality is spectacular! They last all day, they are not super drying and they colour goes on your lips very smoothly. Even if the range only has 8 colours, they are definitely worth the 18€ I have spent on them.

Wet n Wild “Cinnamon Spice”

Buying these lipsticks has been a great decision from my part. The formula is great and it’s so incredibly cheap!  The packaging is not the best and the shape of the bullet doesn’t make it easy for us to apply it.

If I could, I’d buy them all. There is very little I love more than high quality cheap lipsticks.

Deborah “Fluid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick” in 07

My personal mission is to own the entire range. They are the best drugstore liquid lipsticks I have ever tried. They dry incredibly quickly, they last a meal with no problem and they are very comfortable for hours. I wore it a couple of days ago to uni (Yes, I did go to class I can’t even believe it) and it lasted very well

The shop assistant says she is going to call me when they come back in stock. I love her.

Hope you liked this… it took me ages to write and especially to choose the 4 lipstick I loved the most!

May Favourites (and not) 2017

Let’s start on a positive note. This month has been hell. I hated it.

I have basically posted no content here on my blog, I haven’t been reading, I haven’t been putting my makeup on and I haven’t seen that many tv shows… No, ok, that was an alternative fact. I loved A LOT of the things I have watched this month.

But first of all let me say this: everybody always talks about their “favorites” but I am a bit of a negative person and I wanted to include in this post all of the things that have been getting on my nerves recently. Because on the internet I don’t want to pretend that everything is great. I already do that in my real life.

IMG_6855

And what a better way to start this post then talking about the weather.

What is up with these hot temperatures? NO. No. No. Winter come back pls. The weather app on my phone says that this week there’s going to be 31°C (88° F) and I hate it. I’m constantly sweating, I’m always angry… I hate this. I used to love summer when I was little but then I grew up and I came to the realization that bras are uncomfortable, you have to shave and makeup melts on your face.

I can’t put up with this for 4 whole months. And in June/July/August is going to get worst. STUPID HUMIDITY!

IMG_6792

Two other things I’ve hated this month are my exams. I’ve been studying for a while now (hence my absence from the blog) and I can’t handle it anymore. The pressure is driving me crazy.  As of yesterday, hey are finally over. Let’s hope everything goes smoothly.

Completely changing topic, I have been loving quite a few Garnier products related to skin care, which is something that I was never into. I’ve been using this combo everyday and with drinking gallons and gallons of water, they have made my skin look incredibly healthy. Sure, I have to pee every other minute, but let’s not talk about that.

IMG_6849

As I mentioned the rise of he temperature has made it impossible for me to wear eyeshadow without it smugging all over the place. And therefore, I started wearing bold lipsticks.  I had completely forgotten how much I love it. I’ve bought three of the Essence Matt Matt Matt lipsticks and I cannot recommend them enough. They stay on my lips all day and for just 2.89€, it’s the best bargain I’ve even found.

Still from the Essence collection, the “All about Matt! fixing compact powder”. And recently I’ve hit pan. That has never happened to me and to tell the truth, I’m quite sad! Nevertheless, this powder is amazing. It helps my foundation stay in place, despite my oily skin. I absolutely adore it and it’s about 4€, so another great affordable product by Essence.

IMG_6588

This next brand is (I believe) italian, so I think you can only purchase it here or on their website but Deborah‘s lipsticks are great. They are very drying, but they stay in place for a long time and these two colours are spectacular. They are part of a range that include 8 shades in total and if I find it only sales, I’ll definitely buy another one.

IMG_6848 - numers.jpg

In regards of TV, this month has been AMAZING. There was the Eurovision Song Contest which was spectacular. We, Italy, had the best chances of winnin but Europe was a bitch and turned on us and we lost. Damn you Portugal! YOU DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF THE CONTEST, YOU MORON!

Sorry. I get frustrated. Yes, our song was objectively the best and we should have won. RIGGED! Aside from the ESC, the second season of “Master of None” was PERFECTION. I absolutely WANT (yes, want) you to watch it. It’s probably the best show I have seen this year.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

But let’s not forget that the 3° seasons of “12 Monkeys” came out and I binged-watched it in two days. I’ll be writing a review because I obviously have many thoughts about it.

And last but definitely not least, is Hasan Minhaj’s Netflix stand up special: “Homecoming King”. Along with Trevor Noah’s “Afraid of the Dark” and Aziz Ansari’s “Live at MSG”, this is the best stand up special I have ever seen. It’s not just about making stupid jokes and make fun of people: it makes you think and open your mind. He is an intelligent, smart and nice guy. I am profoundly in love with him. Please check him out.

On a personal level, there is a silver lightning: I passed the theory part of my driving exam!!! I did it! After two years begin deadly afraid of taking it, I managed to pass it. I haven’t started driving yet, I still need to go to the driving school and book my first lesson. I have been so busy with my exams, I haven’t even been out of the house.

I really cannot express how relieved I am about passing the test. I am a step closer to a little bit of independence. YAY!

I hope you enjoyed this favourites/non-favourites/life update blog post, even if it is quite a bit late.

BYE!!!

Georgia 🙂 ❤

P.S. this is one of my favourite post EVER, so I’d appreciated you letting me know your thoughts and impressions! Thanks!
