I’m just gonna go and say it: this list is a mess. Sure, I’m interested in all these shows but the chances I’m actually going to see them this summer are pretty slim.
I might change my mind, you never know but… yeah. That being said, I’m still mildly curious about them so I’m going to write them down here!
The Twilight Zone
I know this was a show in the 60s and that it was a pretty popular sci-fi show about werid stuff.
As you can see, I don’t really know what I’m talking about. But Jordan Peele’s name was tossed around; his and some other celebrities’ and so… I want to give it a go.
It says: “hosted” on the poster, so I am curious to see the format and the structure of the show.
I might not like it or I might love it.
She’s Gotta Have It
I’ve had this show on my radar for AGES, but I never got around to it! I have seen the trailer so many times and after evey single one, I always think I’m gonna watch it next and then I don’t.
It’s based on the Spike Lee movie, that has the same title, and it just looks like fun. It seems like an empowering show about a woman who has fun dating a bunch of men.
And Anthony Ramos is in it! He was on the original cast of Hamilton and then on Will and Grace and he is just adorable!
I think it’s gonna be an interesting show.
Jessica Jones – Season 3
I loved sason 1. I loved it. It was such a different superhero show, she was not wearing a costume, she didn’t have weird crazy powers like glowing hands (Yes, I’m talking about you, Iron Fist).
I was not a huge fan of season 2. That being said, I still love Jessica as a superhero and I’m curious to see how this show is going to end.
To be honest, I’m mostly watching it to see if David Tennant makes a cameo.
True Detective – Season 3
Season 1 of True Detective is one of the best one show I’ve been in recent years. I fell in love with it and Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s performances.
It was a stunning show, a fantastic piece of American television.
I loved season 1 as much as I disliked season 2. I tried to watch it and after 2 episodes I gave up. It was just… NO.
But when I heard they were doing a third season, that was in the style of the first one, I knew I had to watch it. And Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali is the main character!
I mean, I have to see it. I started episode 1 and 2 but I wanted to be focused on it and watching it week after week did not allow me to do that.
And we’re done! That is until the Emmy nominees get announced! Because I know they’re going to nominate some show I have not seen.
Have you seen any of these shows? Woud you recommend them?
