Jane The Virgin – s05 ep12 – “Chapter Ninety-Three” – REVIEW

I loved this episode.

I loved it so fucking much.

FINALLY!!!

If you’ve read my previous reviews, you might have seen that I was not keen on this season. I didn’t understand, and to be honest I still don’t, the trajectory of this final season.

I have loooooved so many elements on this 5th season and the writing has been unbelievably good, I was a little bit confused about where this season is going.

I better stop babbling and get on with the review!

Jane is looking for an apartment for her and Mateo to move into and guess who her realtor is? RAFAEL!

While Xiomara is getting back into her pre-cancer routine, Rogelio is convinced River Fields is waiting to get back at him, leaving him in a state of fear and terror.

Petra is still pining over JR and she has every right to. Oh and her former assistant Krishna is back!

Mateo is in the school play! And he is a tree! But he is not handling it well and Rafael sees him having a meltdown, a meltdown that gets him kicked out of the musical. So Raf suggests putting him on medication, even though Jane is not on board.

AND A CUTE MOMENT BETWEEN THESE TWO!

But it gets interrupted by the woman Rafael is currently seeing. Or as I should say: Rafa. And she immediately goes to Petra. I love them.

And the conversation turns to JR and stalking her on Instagram.

“I’m not a big fan of wearing pants after 9 PM.”

JANE IS MOOD.

Seeing Jane teach Mateo the choreography and knowing Gina is an amazing dancer made it all more fun! Thankfully Xiomara steps in!

Jane tells Rafael’s new girlfriend Julie that he likes her a lot and that she has nothing to worry about! She is trying to be the bigger person! But as it turns out… that’s not true. Raf is just not that into her. (lol)

Jane even helps him making a list of all the qualities he is looking for in a potential girlfriend.

She needs to go out.

Jane and Petra as a bar trying to pick up guys and ending up chatting to two 20-year-olds made my day. I was so happy to see them laughing and having a good time. This is honestly the best relationship that has come out of the show.

Come on! Guys or girls?

Jane being a wing woman for Petra! YES!!!!

Apparently, Petra’s lawyers can’t stop Milos from selling the hotel! How sad!

Honestly, I always thought you were a good person. It just took JR to finally bring it out of you.

I LOVE TWO SUPPORTIVE SISTERS!!!

Rogelio has hired a scaring bodyguard Rivers immediately finds herself liking. Aaaaaaand she basically falls in love with him. WHICH HAD BEEN THE PLAN ALL ALONG, orchestrated by Xo, Rogelio, and Darcy!

Mateo’s recital does not go according to plan. He gets distracted and he messes up. My heart broke for him when he said:

“I wanted to do the play good. I don’t wanna be this way anymore.”

This leads Jane to agree with Rafael’s suggestion to put Mateo on ADHD medications.

Xiomara reveals to Rogelio she still feels lost, just like before she was diagnosed and she doesn’t feel as happy as she thinks she should be after surviving cancer.

Oh, and by the way, Krishna is working with Milos.

But that’s not important. Raf has asked Jane to meet him and guess what?

HE STILL LOVES HER AND HE WANTS TO BE WITH HER.

AND THEN IT TURNS INTO A MUSICAL!!!

EVERYTHING’S LOVE!

IT’S LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Honorable Mentions

Milos is in the Prison Choir.

Making fun at the hippies.

HOW GREAT WAS THIS?! I have not been the most positive person in regards to this season but this episode made it all better.

Honestly, I don’t understand why they made all this mess… Anyway, I’m happy. So happy. And with 6 episodes left, I’m ready to start crying.

What are your thoughts on the episode? And the representation of Mateo’s ADHD? Are you happy Jane and Raf are back together?
