You guys, I have found my new favourite Riverdale episode and it’s a musical!!!
I truly can’t believe how much I’m into it. And I love the soundtrack! And…
I haven’t recovered from all the bughead in the episode. I’m still in shock.
It was so much and COLE SANG!!! WHAT!?
AND CHONI GOT BACK TOGETHER!!! YAY!
I have so many thoughts, I’m gonna need to write a second post about this episode.
Now let’s get started.
Heathers The Musical is coming to Riverdale, sponsored by The Farm. COOL. Right? What could possibily go wrong?
And straight from the beginning: Song n. 1: Beautiful…
And Hermione’s line which sums up the entire show:
And BUGHEAD MOMENT NUMBER 1
Look at my happy babes!!! Apparently, Betty has excepted Jug’s invitation to stay at the Jones’ because her bedroom looks identical. So YAAAY! They’re living together!!! CUTE!!!
Despite the Mayor’s protests, they’re doing the musical and everything is fine. Betty, Veronica and Cheryl are playing the three Heathers and guess who’s also co-directing?
Oh and Toni is the choreographer, with immediately angers Cheryl. Apparently, in the previous episode they did break up so now it’s all angst and angst and angst.
Evelyn has also taken the role of therapist of the group, like those corporate games they play to make you connect with your co-workers.
Song n. 2! Candy store! Basically Cheryl and Toni fighting through dance moves and solos.
Betty is over this farm bullshit and I love her.
On the other side of town, FP and Jug’s old trailer has been stole AND there have been some break-ins in a pharmacy.
Somebody is starting a drug lab!!!
Breaking Bad season 1 style!!!
Daddy and Hermione are getting a divorce. Daddy knows what Hermione and Veronica did. About the drugs and the attempted murders.
But a party at the former Sisters of Quiet Mercy seems perfect! Sure!
Cute Song n. 3: Big Fun! To be honest, I love it. It’s such a good song. I love. I has a little bit of ’70 vibe with some Grease accents. That’s what I got from it.
Reggie, sweetie, stop with this endgame thing. And are they all insane? Why are they all drinking and eating stuff Evelyn gives them!? Kevin has an allucination! About Midge! Could you be more stupid? *read in Chandler Bing’s voice*
I love that Sweet Pea and Fangs are so involved in this episode. Despite Tall Boy’s murder and a whole bunch of shady stuff… I love them. And when he said: “summer fling”, I literally broke into song.
SUMMER FLING DON’T MEAN A THING, BUT OH OH THE SUMMER NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS!!!
Reggie might be a dick sometimes but he knows what’s best for Veronica.
Cheryl and Toni are fighting again. Why, you ask? Because Toni was wearing red.
Just saying but DANG, Vanessa Morgan can sing!
Song n. 4! Dead Girl Walking! And she also has a threesome with Sweet Pea and Peaches. Yes, that’s the name of a person. One of the Pretty Poisons. Cool. But she has a sort of vision about Cheryl and nothing happens.
BUGHEAD MOMENT NUMBER 2
Do you wanna go hunting with me night?
Jughead always says the most romantic things.
Betty goes snooping around at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy and… Kevin and Fangs are married now?
Song n. 4! I don’t know what it is because I skipped it. I don’t care about Archie.. I really don’.t. Josie, you deserve better.
Oh and apparently Principal Weatherby is part of the Farm. He’s been brainwashed as well. FUN.
BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE BIG CHONI AND BUGHEAD MOMENT COMING UP!
Let’s go with Choni first because I need more time to talk about Betty and Jughead.
“Babe, what was love like in your family?”
SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED TO THIS POOR GIRL AND NOBODY IS ACKNOWLEDGING IT!
Finally! They’re giving Cheryl some character development! I’m so happy!
Jug finds the trailer. And there’s a lab in it. Mommy Dearest is cooking drugs.
But you guys….
They sing the song. And the whole thing is just… I was blown away by it.
HOW AM I STILL ALIVE?!?!
I can’t recover from this. I just can’t.
I need a moment.
But how did Daddy find out that Hermione tried to have him killed? Who told him? What happened? Is there something else going on here?
Song n* 6! Poor Veronica.
And then back at the Cooper’s Jones’! FP has been attacked and Bughead goes to to the play. Which apparently confirms everybody’s theory that Betty and Jughead are living together.
And Bughead arrives all covered in dirt and holding hands!!!
Aaaaaaaand they burnt down the old trailer. But who cares! We get a sweet moment and car sex!
LOOK AT MY BABES!
But let’s focus on the ending. They sing the reprise of “Seventeen”, which is all about behaving like teenagers and not worrying about issues they’re not suppose to, like gangs, serial killers and drug lords.
It’s one of my favourite moments on the show, because they’re kids and since season 1, they’ve been dealing with so much. And it’s nice that they’ve addressed what we’ve all been saying for ages: these are not the lives of normal kids and they should act their age, not join cults or worrying about being locking in a conversion camp.
Betty’s sweater for the yellow crown made me smile so much!
AND GUESS WHO MAKES AN APPEARANCE? EDGAR EVERNEVER!
With some weird slow-clapping!?! WHAT!?! And they all clap rhythmically, and they’re all wearing white!
I’m so fucking scared. First there was G&G now the Farm has infiltrated Riverdale!
WHAT IS GOING ON?
I’m still high on Bughead feelings so I’m prefectly happy. I’m just so happy.
What are your thoughts on the episode? Aren’t you glad Choni finally communicated and now they’re back together?!
AND ALL THOSE BUGHEAD MOMENTS!!!
Let me know in the comments and discuss!!!
BONUS: This made me laugh so much. As a loyal The Lonely Island fan, this is amazing.
