After last week’s look into the future, I was terrified of watching this episode.
And this week’s episode started off with said look into the future. A ring-less Gretchen checking in a hotel room, not touching a single drop of alcohol in the mini bar and curling up in bed.
WHAT IS HAPPENING!?
Jimmy has a melt down after Gretchen calls him “a very good boy” and despite all the depraved sex stuff and how awful he generally is to people, he is relatively good.
They find a weird ass DJ for their wedding and when at an important meeting at her PR company, Gretchen is obviously unprepared and she blurts out his name as a possible new client.
Meanwhile Lindsay and Edgar are caught having sex by Vernon and Becca, who now apparently love each other.
And they’re scamming Paul! He is such a dumb dumb!
Becca will have his baby as a surrogate and he keeps paying them money month after month but they dump his sperm out of the window.
They are so horrible!
Jimmy and his perfectly organized working space are challenged: will he be a very good boy and keep an eye on the laptop of another costumer, or will he steal it and run away?
Well… he steals it and then comes back.
He is such an idiot.
THEN he almost pushes a guy into the street! I mean, he was wearing Air Pods and he sounded like a dick… but at the end, he doesn’t do it.
Lindsay and Edgar try to actually date and it ends up with the both of them running out of the restaurant.
They are good fuck buddies but not compatible to be in a relationship together.
IT WAS SO SAD! I wanted them to be together! They are both so stupid and dumb! It was a perfect match!
Gretchen is invited to lunch by her boss, who praises her for her performance as an employee and urges her to actually TRY.
All of which leaves Gretchen in tears. It was such a nice moment because she needs to hear this. She needs people to tell her she is great and with just a little bit of effort, she can be amazing.
She is always so insecure about her abilities and she never even tried to be better. She just needs to have a little bit of faith in herself.
On the other side of LA, Jimmy keeps feeling emasculated by Gretchen because she doesn’t want to deal with the florist and he is into it.
JIMMY HAS A VISION FOR HIS WEDDING, OKAY?!
The florist, (Hannah Marks, “Dirk Gently: Holistic Detective Agency) invites him to a… rave party? Heavy Metal concert? I’m not sure.
He gets punched around and they end up in the bathroom. He starts ranting about what Gretchen said to him and his own vision of life and GUESS WHAT?!
The episode ends with the florist giving him a BJ.
Is this why they split up? Or is it just a ruse to keep us engaged and it doesn’t mean anything?
BUT SHE HAD NO RING ON HER FINGER!!! SHE WASN’T WEARING IT!
AND JIMMY WAS SELLING HIS HOUSE!!!
You guys, I’m scared.
What are your thoughts on the episode? Do you think Lindsay and Edgar’s decision was a good idea? And what will happen between Jimmy and Gretchen?
Do you have any theories about these looks into the future?
Tell me about them!
