Lawyers & Law Enforcement Pilots: What’s New in 2018-2019

I used to be such a fan of these kinds of shows but now I’ve lost interest. It’s always the same story over and over again. They all have the same (white) protagonists, as you can perfectly see om the pictures down below, they are all “tough” and “badass” and “fierce“.

Some of these might even be good, if not great, but the lack of diversity both regarding the characters and the plot line in general is disappointing.

Without much further ado, let’s see what new pilots are coming out!

FBI (CBS)

FBI

Another Dick Wolf produced show! Like there weren’t enough already! Jokes aside, this show (starring Missy Peregrym, Jeremy Sisto, Zeeko Zaki, Ebonée Noel and Sela Ward), is all about the New York City office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

So….. Like every single other show on his planet? GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW!

PREMIERE DATE: Sept. 25th

The Code (CBS)

There is very little news available regarding this show but the synopsis is:

The military’s brightest minds take on our country’s toughest challenges – inside the courtroom and out – where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator – and a Marine.

Personally, I’m not that intrigued and I probably won’t check it out.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

The Enemy Within (NBC)

The Enemy Within

Starring former Limitless leading lady Jennifer Carpenter, Morris Chestnut, Raza Jaffrey and Kelli Garner, a traitorous ex CIA operative serving life imprisonment is recruited by a FBI agent to track down an elusive criminal she is well too familiar with.

I’ve moved on from the law enforcement series and so I don’t really see myself following this show, I’ll probably watch the pilot.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

The Fix (ABC)

I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and I don’t think it is for me.

The description says: The Fix follows an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. With her high-profile career derailed, she flees for a quieter life in Washington. Eight years later when this same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder, Maya Travis is lured back to the DA’s office for another chance at justice.

It’s just another tv show. It doesn’t seem that different from all the things that are already on and that have been on in the past years.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

Magnum P.I. (CBS)

Again with the reboots. Please please please… STOP.

It’s the “updated version” of the classic TV show and I am not interested. Even if the main character is Latinx! (And I was really surprised because you know…. CBS.)

PREMIERE DATE: Sept. 24th

Proven Innocent (FOX)

I’m still angry at FOX for having the audacity of cancelling Brooklyn99 (even if it was probably the best promotional and popularity booster they could have done).

This show is a legal drama set in a wrongful conviction firm with a “fierce and fearless female lawyer”.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

The Rookie (ABC)

No. No. No. No.

I’m tired of seeing Nathan Fillion on TV. They ruined “Castle” by not renewing Stana Katic’s contract and saying the show was called “Castle” and so it could go on without Beckett.

THE FANS PETITIONED FOR THE SHOW TO BE CANCELLED.

THE FANS!

And now they want to do the same thing but slightly different? This time instead of a writer solving crimes, he is a rookie police officer in LA?

COME ON.

Help creators put something new and fresh on TV. With different people and different stories: because this has already been told.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

Whiskey Cavalier (ABC)

Starring Scandal’s Scott Foley and The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohen, this series is about a tough but tender FBI super-agent Will Chase who is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge and together they lead a team who periodically saves the world.

What?!

The descriptions of the characters are already making me cringe so bad.

Whiskey Cavalier

Just look at the promotional pictures and tell me you don’t already hate it.

I’m sorry but no.

PREMIERE DATE: Midseason

Soooo! Here are all the Lawyer and Law Enforcement pilots coming out this fall!

Check out the complete list on TvLine!

Do you planning on watching any of them? Did some catch our eye? Which one do you think I should check out?
